Dr. Vernon joined the staff in 2011, and in 2020 became the owner of the practice. After graduating from veterinary school at Western University, she completed an internship in equine practice at Southwest Equine Medical and Surgical Center in Scottsdale, AZ. In addition to her DVM, Dr. Vernon holds a bachelors degree in Equine Science from Colorado State University. Although she is a horse girl at heart, Dr. Vernon is passionate about all aspects of mixed practice. She has completed specialized training in small animal orthopedic surgery, large and small animal ultrasound, equine lameness, surgery, and dentistry, among many other interests. Additionally, she serves our community as the President of the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, and is an active member of the AVMA and AAEP. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, competing with her cutting horses, and working with her 2 dogs in agility and stock work. On top of this, she serves us as the WORLDS BEST PIE MAKER!

Our clinic was started in 1982 by Dr. Gary Norwood. At that time it was a very small business with only himself and one other employee. Dr. Norwood has been serving Cheyenne and the surrounding area for the past 39 years. His compassionate care for our clients and their animals during that time have endeared him to many people. Dr. Norwood is an active member of our community, serving on the Board of Recover Wyoming, WYPAP and the AVMA. He also is a great dancer and golfer, and can be seen dancing on the golf course throughout the season! Although he retired in 2020 he couldn't stay away and still comes to work with us weekly!

I am a 2020 graduate from Colorado State University and am excited to join Frontier Veterinary Clinic. A Cheyenne native, I earned my associate’s degree in biology from Laramie County Community College before continuing on to earn my bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Wyoming. In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Lechtenberg is a 2018 graduate from Kansas State University where she also received her undergraduate education.  Upon graduation she completed a year long equine internship at Pineridge Equine in Glenpool, OK. Afterwards she spent 6 years practicing equine medicine in Brevard County Florida. A Kansas native, she is excited to return to the Midwest and expand her practice to all animals. In her free time she enjoys many activities including hiking, skiing, riding horses, rock climbing and exploring the surrounding areas. Welcome Dr. Abi!!

I am a 2026 graduate from Colorado State University of Veterinary Medicine. As part of my combined degree I also completed a Masters in Animal Sciences with a focus on food animal welfare and behavior. I have always wanted to do mixed practice and enjoy working with all species of animals, with livestock holding a special place in my heart. In my free time I enjoy being outside and paddle boarding, golfing, gardening, going to Bronco's games, or exploring with my dog. I also enjoy cooking, reading, tending to my houseplants, and when given the chance, catching up on a good TV show."

Practice Manager and officially the longest lasting employee! She wins, moving into her 28th year officially. Katrina works just as hard in her spare time running Bkind4B.com her own non-profit organization in memory of her son Branson, and as the treasurer for Buffalo Youth Nation Project, a native for native all women run non-profit. You will see many fundraisers and food/supply drives as we support her efforts here! We also have an angel fund that helps our clients in Branson's honor.

Jean is a godsend to the business office! She enjoys her retirement from her 40yrs in the Human Health Care field. She had many hats as an intensive care nurse, then Coordinator, and finally the Director of Cardiology and Pulmonary Physiology. Say that 3 times fast! Needless to say her heart is huge and her smile is the only thing bigger!

Brittany is our Floor Supervisor and connects all the moving parts of our clinic! Inventory, Techs, Front, Back, Top, Bottom...you name it she is working there! I think her Tetris Champion of the World medal has helped give her the street cred she needs to keep all our systems moving flawlessly.

Gracie keeps us laughing and enjoying our days while she leads our Veterinary Technician Team. Her wit is sharp and her laugh contagious even when its quiet!

Sariah is a firecracker addition to the Vet Tech Team! She and Amberley are also our sunshine team and spread fun and smiles to us all! She is an amazing singer and scrabble champion!

Kristen is one of our competent and caring Veterinary Technician Staff. She will be heading up our nights the majority of the time while she spends her days with her wonderful children!

Kitty, Vet Tech and former alligator wrestler...just kidding on the alligator part. She could probably get one to put on a collar and walk down the street on a leash. Kitty enjoys nature, mountains and taking her wife and pups camping. Kitty's pug is also in league with our other staff's pugs for the cutest pugs around! They can all bend us to their will...and do.

Lisa joined our clinic as part of the veterinary exchange program. She hails from the UK. We are excited to eat lots of dishes such as sausage rolls, figgy pudding and kidney pie... or at least to enjoy her exotic accent while she leads our Client Care Team to excellence!

Briana works hard at our front desk. She proudly served in our military and uses the voice they gave her to cheer on her kiddos as a hockey mom too! She has a love of learning and recently expanded her position to include helping as one of our veterinary assistants along with working in the back!

Robin enjoys her spot at the front so much it is rare to see her without a smile when you come in! Her current ranking as a sharp shooter makes her a perfect fit for Wyoming, plus she grows great zucchinis and we all look forward to our own personal farmer as part of our clinic family.

Phylicia is one of our front desk staff, resident optimist, and has earned the unofficial title of "Clinic Cupcake Lady", baking us delicious treats. When she isn’t greeting patients, Phylicia stays busy immersed in community and creativity. She is a dedicated member and librarian for a local community choir and an avid crafter who dabbles in everything from painting to crochet. On the weekends, she loves spending quality time with her family—whether they are camping or heading to the lake for the day, tackling home projects, watching a movie or teaming up for a video game night.

New to our team as our Veterinary Assistant, is Erin. A recent graduate of the University of Wyoming, and wife, Erin brings excitement and vibrance to our everyday chaos! She has a personal love of horses and history of arena work and participating in reined cow horse. We hope her skills learned in college will help keep our staff galloping along both in the back and as a Client Care Coordinator, as you will see her helping out on both teams! Welcome Erin!

Deb has more fire than 3 people! This is probably due to her fireball addiction! But all her energy keeps her going tending to all our grateful animals as a valued member of our Animal Care Team!

Nadia joins our Animal Care Team and brings with her an enthusiasm for learning and a gentle caring for all our four legged friends. They all know she is a trusted caretaker the minute they see her.

Amanda will always be loved and missed as our Head Technician and remembered for her amazing mind, skills and heart! Pants we miss you always!

Colleen has retired after 35 years but comes to see us very often, and is missed by clients and staff alike!
